This site was created to share the legacy of Dr. John Wrasse who joyfully served pediatrics patients and their families in Bloomington until his sudden passing from unknown heart disease in 2021. Dr. Wrasse was an ardent advocate of families being active together and he had a lifelong passion for bicycling and community. Dr. Wrasse also served as a clinical instructor of pediatrics for the IU School of Medicine and was devoted to helping his students. Our intent with this site is fourfold:
- carry on Dr. Wrasse’s mission of helping children and his dream of a fun community bike ride/run/walk through the annual Dr. Wrasse Memorial Bike 4 the Kids, benefiting Riley Kids Fund of Bloomington.
- honor Dr. Wrasse’s commitment to supporting medical students through fundraising to endow the John D. Wrasse, MD Memorial Scholarship at the IU School of Medicine.
- promote heart health awareness.
- provide a space to share memories of Dr. Wrasse.
We invite you to share activities in line with the above 4 goals on social media with the hashtag #4DrWrasse.
